But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” (Matt 7:14 NIV)… The narrow road can be long, can become weary, and it can make you want to give up but it leads to life. True life is found on that long road and only a few find it; I want to be a part of the few.Yawdy Quan
Yet again this artist always provides killer music with scriptural lyrics!
Throughout the whole song, the artist spits worthy words. He raps about topics ranging from tribulation to election. These are two of the topics I want us to dig deeper in to understand the artist’s intent behind his powerful words.
To summarise the topic of Tribulation, there is a specific verse I want us to look at:
“ Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,; whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. “ – James 1:1-3
Whenever we go through many challenges and trials as Christ-followers it is not in vain because through these trials God uses them to build character in us, He uses them to bring about good in other people’s lives, there is literally infinite possibilities when it comes to God’s plans behind each trial but we need to trust in Him regardless of how tough it is currently.
On the topic of the election, it is one that many do not completely understand yet because it really requires meditation on scripture and true in-depth study but to summarise it:
Not everyone was chosen by God. If He had, then everyone would believe in Christ. He left some to their own devices, but He chose some. Regardless of our actions, we would all continue to rebel against Christ if left to our own devices. A number of people were pursued by God, led to faith by conviction, and are now serving Him. Those who come to faith in Christ are doing so because of God’s choice. Jesus said, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day” (John 6:44).
It is a difficult topic to understand. But we trust that the Holy Spirit leads us and guides us in our understanding of Scripture.
So regardless of what we do understand or not, we need to continue fighting the good fight and staying on the narrow path. One wise person once told me that “walking on the narrow path is like walking on the edge of a blade, it takes balance, it takes enduring the pain and trials, it takes commitment.”
No challenge is to big for the Christian because he/she has the almighty on his/her side.
Thank you Yawdy for your incredible use of scripture in your music. Keep sharing the light with the world.
