This is the worship album of the year. If you do not know Upperroom as yet, we are here to make you aware of their existence. Upperroom has produced the most amazing music in the past decade or more. Their previous album LAND OF THE LIVING was amazing. But let us focus on the new tracklist on this album. Our favourite track on the list is number 1.

“On The Altar” (feat. Elyssa Smith)

This song embodies what worship is about. To be on the altar for God.

To be on the altar can mean being a living sacrifice for Jesus.

“I appeal to you, therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect”- Romans 12:1-2

Oh, I will live on the altar, Oh You are worth what you asked for, If you’re searching for a heart, As your reward,

I am Yours” – On the Altar (feat. Elyssa Smith)

God wants our hearts. He wants our love and dedication. If you truly love God, you will choose to live a life that does not reflect the world but one that reflects His purpose and character.

“Cause I’m your temple, A dwelling place for you, Lord make my heart, A pleasing home for you” – On the Altar (feat. Elyssa Smith)

This line reminds me of something David said.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” – Psalm 51:10

David wanted a clean heart, a heart that pleases God. That yearns after the right things, That chooses to please God above self.

This song also mentions being set apart. Now, what does it mean to be set apart for God? It means to not conform to the pattern of this world, it means to consecrate yourself, to pursue righteousness and holiness.

You have been set apart as holy to the Lord your God, and he has chosen you from all the nations of the earth to be his own special treasure. – Deuteronomy 14:2

Upperroom’s style is self-denial, pick up your cross and live for God. So we encourage you to check them out and enjoy their latest music.
