The Designer Sessions are back with their brand new refix of popular worship song “See A Victory“. The reason I like The Designer Sessions is not just because they use anime to accompany the remixes of worship songs which I love! The sound they create and way they communicate the Gospel is in a unconventional but effective way. Using pop and hiphop to reach a culture who thrives on that sound The Designer Sessions really do change up what Christian music is. The video that grabbed my attention from them was their Hillsong – Let Go refix check it out below 🙂
About The Designer Sessions
The Designer Sessions is a worship band from south Florida trying to recreate the contemporary worship sound. We were heavily inspired by what Hillsong United did in the early 2000’s, when they infused guitars/the-punk-rock-sound to modern worship. We want to do the same with hiphop/pop, and grow with a new generation – so by the time they’re in their 30’s-40’s, we had a hand in creating the genre that they hear at church. Our goal is to have our sound slowly start to trickle into what churches can do on a Sunday morning. We started this project 2 years ago, then a year later released our covers on youtube. We’re excited for the future and pray that we’re onto something!
Inspiration Behind See A Victory
“We we’re discussing back and forth which next worship we should be covering, and then someone brought up See A Victory! That song resonated with all of us because it talks about being bold in God. It’s hard making music (let alone any product) without worrying about what other people might say or think. This song challenged us to move past judging ourselves. Now we focus on that Jesus won the battle over sin and death, and that the weapon may be formed to give us insecurities – but it won’t prosper! So then we tried to make the song as bouncy as possible haha” Check out See A Victory below.
