Stacey Sarpong releases ‘Provider’

” And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus

Philippians 4:19

When listening to ‘Provider’, you are listening not only to a song but to a couple of scriptures in the Bible. Stacey Sarpong has done a good job on this one. It not only carries the truth of God but carries a beat you would most like to dance to.

The provider is an encouraging, joyful song. It is something you should sing during the trials of life. Because it is a great reminder of the God we serve and it is a reminder that the storm isn’t that big at all.

No matter the circumstance you are in, you can depend on God to provide because it is not only something He does, but it is literally Who He is. It is easy for us to turn to people, turn to jobs, turn to governments when things go wrong, and be afraid, but there is no greater being to turn to than God.

In Stacey’s song, there is a line that speaks of one of my favourite verses in scripture, it is a verse to turn to when things are really uncertain:

The birds fly without misery They know You will provide And I know that you’re with me God you’re my Provider

– Stacey Sarpong ‘Provider’

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?

– Matthew 6:26-27

When covid spread last year and we were all quarantined, this verse was one I memorised and I believe that we still need it regardless of the situation. Yes, we need it in times of struggle but we also need it on our good days as a reminder as to who we are in His eyes.

God knows us so well that He knows exactly what we need. You may not understand this, but He knows you better than you know yourself. See, God sees beyond the imperfections, the baggage, or the person you are right now, God sees you for the better you. Therefore He provides a way for you to grow. This is so much more important than receiving physical or material blessings. But to know that He is providing a future for you that you can hardly comprehend. A Future that is greater than all the Earth’s riches. He wants what is best for you.

We do not need to fear or worry, we just need to lean on Him, we need to trust Him.

PROVIDER I woke up feeling blessed Full of joy, I can’t express Why should I even worry When my God is my life vest

– Stacey Sarpong ‘Provider’

Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

– Matthew 10:31

We do not need to worry. We simply need to trust Him. He is the source of life and He sustains it. It’s with this in mind that I wrote this song and my prayer is that everyone listening to this song will start to look to God as their Great Provider!”

– Stacey Sarpong

Thank you Stacey for reminding us who God is in the storm.
