The song Selah is inspired by Psalm 5. This Psalm was a reflection of my thoughts and the experiences I was facing at the time, these were my cogitations and meditations and so when I was lead to this scripture it just resonated in my spirit. This is a song that seeks to encourage us as Children of God that we are loved especially in these strange times and that obedience and trust in God will lead us to greater levels of glory and trust in Christ. The song is basically a revelation of the writers understanding of the word and of Christ. The many blessings He has given us and encourages us to stay in our lane and run the race that is set before us joyfully despite the challenges and difficulties.
This Single Selah serves as a preparation for the upcoming E.P of Septembre Sept which is scheduled to be released before the year runs outGeorge Ayuketang
WORD MEANING: Selah is defined as a Hebrew word that has been found at the ending of verses in Psalms and has been interpreted as an instruction calling for a break in the singing of the Psalm or it may mean “forever.”
“But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favour as with a shield.”Psalm 5:11-12
When I listened to this song, it took me to a different plane, the sound is 100 per cent authentic and transcending. I can definitely feel the Selah in this song. Selah is a picture for the future break and rest that we will find in Jesus Christ, coincidently we find that this rest/break lasts forever.
We put God over everything – George Ayuketang
He says this in the song, I just love it because those who choose to do this do find eventual rest in Christ Jesus. What more can we ask for? God has gifted us with such great blessing and it is written on every page of the Bible.
You might disagree with me but in truth, even at the worst parts of the story, God has had His plan from the beginning and He is seeing it through. He is building His nation and we are patiently waiting, longing for HIs return and this is a song that reminds us of all that He has done and all that He will still do.
So I pray that you find Selah, there is only one place and the person you can find it and that is in Jesus Christ.
Thank you to George for this beautiful piece of art, I will be enjoying it for the rest of the week.
