This is by far the best song I have heard this week. Go and check out this beautiful work of art. Christian Reggae is the new thing and I am loving it.
Those who wait’ is available on Youtube, Spotify and Itunes.
Sayotheartist speaks about those who wait on the Lord, expressing Isaiah 40:31. God will renew our strength. She speaks about how God is sovereign and how He steers us in the right direction when we fail and slip into temptation.
But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.Isaiah 40:31
She speaks about how God has been there time and time again for all of us and we know this because He is in control. Although He is the Sovereign, all-powerful King, He wants fellowship and a relationship with us. See from the very beginning God created us for Himself. When sin entered the world and we were busy choosing selfish desires, God had a plan to send His Son to die on the cross for sinners.
Those who believe in Jesus Christ are saved, this takes repentance (a true sorrow of sin) , seeking forgiveness from God and then turning away from sin. It is a 180 degree turn to Jesus, forsaking all others and placing Him on the throne of your heart.
Once you are saved or born again. The Holy Spirit lives inside you, sancitifying you to become more like Christ. Christians are not perfect , they fail and fall too. But we know the LORD IS OUR STRENGTH that helps us resist evil.
He is the power we need to win the fight. Jesus Christ is victorious and we share in His win because He rescued us.
“And if [we are His] children, [then we are His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His spiritual blessing and inheritance], if indeed we share in His suffering so that we may also share in His glory”.Romans 8:17
All of this truth to a beautiful beat and paired with her authentic voice, this song is a rare gem. Her beautiful lyrics are also written in Yoruba which brings such great authentic power to her style. If you were wondering what the words mean in Yoruba , here is a list:
Eledumare – Lord of the universe
Oba Ogo – King of Glory
Mo dupe fun Oba Oba Ogo – I give thanks to the King of Glory
A Toba Jaye – The God we can totally rely on
Emi ma dupe fun A Toba Jaye – I give thanks to the God we can totally rely on
Iwo ni mo dupe fun – It is You I am grateful for
Mo dupe fun Oba Ogo – I give thanks to the King of Glory
Olugbala Agbaye – Saviour of the World
Mo dupe I’owo re – I give you thanks
She is such a sure sign to many that you do not need to be in ministry or be someone of high status to change the world for God’s glory. God will use you regardless of your background, the colour of your skin and the language you speak. What He starts He will finish. (Phil. 1:6)
In the song she mentions a few attributes about God , here they are paired with scripture for you to learn more about Him.

- High Priest
“Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. “- Hebrews 4:14
- Sovereign King
