Samuel Suh releases EP ‘Victory’

Samuel is a Christian Reggae singer and songwriter. Yes, that is a handful but that is what makes Samuel different. Samuel comes from a city called Johannesburg located in South Africa.

On his EP called ‘Victory’, there are 6 featured songs. A music video has been recorded for one of his songs “Rivers”, here is the music video if you want to check it out.

Rivers is a beautiful song about how God comes through for those who are desolate, no matter where you are and how impossible the situation may seem. God makes rivers in the desert and wilderness.

Victory is a song about how ‘Victory’ belongs to Jesus, it’s also about how God provides and we should give Him thanks. We can definitely say that Victory belongs to Him and why we say that is because when He died on the cross he overcame the world, when He rose from the dead after three days He defeated death and therefore we can live in that truth.

We are no longer slaves to sin but once we have been born again we have become servants of the greatest King the world has ever known and will ever know.

Root of David

In His song root of David, Samuel speaks about How Jesus Christ is the root of David, He sings about Jesus’ power like fire, thunder and lighting that no one can quench it. He speaks about Jesus breaking all chains, He speaks about how we as Christians, as individuals need to go out into the world and ‘Tell It’ meaning, we need to get out there and spread the good news that a Good God does exist and He is all-powerful.

Samuel also mentions that we are saved by His grace. This reminded me of Ephesians 2:8. It is not our own doing but God is the one who does the saving and we can only boast in His power and not in our strength because He is the one who pulls people out of darkness and only He can save the world.

Like Eagles

“But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles,” – Isaiah 40:31

This song is about how we should not fear evil because we do not rely on our own strength but we rely on God’s strength and His strength alone. Jesus Christ is on the throne and no matter how difficult our lives might be we need to trust that God is in control.

It is a blessing to have this sort of confidence in God and what this song brings is hope to those who currently are struggling with trust in God, remember that we are not perfect but God remains faithful and we can run to Him regardless of what we have done wrong and what we are currently dealing with. There is no BIG issue for God that He cannot solve, We just need to pray and lay it at His feet.

By Name

This song reveals how God is sovereign over His creation and how He knows everyone and everything name. This means that He knows every part of His creation intimately. In this song, Samuel sings to God asking Him to call him. The reality of being called by God is that you become a different person, you become new, born again and transformed (2 Cor 5:17; John 3). His sheep hear His voice (John 10:27).

But call out to Him, don’t wait. His name is Jesus, His YHWH.

I truly enjoyed Samuel’s music because throughout every lyric, verse and chorus you can hear that this person truly loves God and that He truly wants you to know who God is.

Thank you Samuel Suh for these beautiful songs and thank you that you are making His name known. I pray you to reach every nation and can’t wait to hear more from you.

Samuel’s music is available on YouTube, Spotify, Itunes and many others. Go and check it out and show him your support.
