Maria Schoeps – Come As You Are

Maria originally from Brazil is a singer-songwriter living in England. Maria’s passion for music was developed at a young age through her experiences with contemporary worship music in her local church. Through trying personal times her love for music allowed her to express and put life into perspective. She hopes to share that same strength given to her through music with others.

The feeling and meaning behind Come as You Are is no matter who you are, what you’ve done or how far you’ve drifted away from home, there’s a way back. I know the power shame can hold over us. We can drift away and how it can distance us from our Creator but if you listen carefully you’ll realise you’re being invited to go back home.

God calls us by our names and regardless of what we have done, the shame we feel, the sins we have committed. Whether you have been hurt or you were the one that hurt others. God’s door is wide open, Jesus says “Come as you are”.

Millions of Christians can testify to this truth that no matter how much bad they have done, God has welcomed them with open arms. The door to Jesus is believing in what He has done for you. He died for your sins so that you are freed from the curse of death.

“For the wages of sin is death but the free gift in Christ Jesus is Eternal life. “ – Romans 6:23

“God doesn’t want something from us, He simply wants us.”

C.S. Lewis

Jesus says “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”(Matthew 11:28)

Thank you to Maria Schoeps for this wonderful piece of art that glorifies God and teaches others about who Jesus is and what He wants. Pray that you are blessed and others will be blessed as I am from listening to this song.
