The song Journey is about our everyday choices to walk with Jesus. It’s only with time that we become aware of the consequence of each of our decisions in the wake of Matthew 16:24-26, and the song examines how every choice we make impacts our spiritual journey.
In order to follow God, we have to be able to repent, to be redeemed, to be resilient, to persevere, and to desire it especially when it is not pretty. The purpose of man0fstringz’s message is to encourage those who listen to evaluate their lives and consider whether they still want to follow Jesus.
man0fstringz is a UK based artist. A Nigerian by birth, he is inspired by the love of humanity and his faith in God. He wants to use music to proclaim the truth about the daily victories, struggle and challenges that Christians face and how to overcome them as Christians by implementing Biblical teachings.
Shimon Atunde is a Lagos, Nigerian gospel artist who uses afrobeat, gospel-infused sound to convey God’s grace and love through the wisdom of his life experiences. Shinon takes inspiration from not only the experiences he has but also the events that surround him. Shimon plays the keyboard at his local church and loves retro media such as cassette tapes and vinyl records.
Shimon also encourages his listeners to take up their cross and follow the king. Jesus said the same thing in Luke.
“And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”Luke 9:23
Taking up your cross is symbolic of the sacrifices you need to make as a Christian, Shimon encourages you and me to stand for the truth. Not to be ashamed of the Gospel.
He also mentions that we are here because of mercy. This is true because we serve a God who is in control but He is merciful. The mere fact that we get to hear God’s words and read them in scripture is a blessing, it’s God’s mercy and grace.
Thank you so much Shimon for your song, I find it very inspiring and I pray it encourages many to pursue truth and I pray that God uses it to lead others toward mercy and grace that we find in Jesus Christ.
