Jekasole x JustcallmeDT – LOW LOW

In this song, Jekasole mentions that we need to keep our blessings on the ‘low low’. So what does this mean?

It means we should not boast, we should not rub it in peoples faces. But there are two sides to this coin. Envy and jealousy from the other side are real and truly the main point should be that we check our hearts and try to identify whether something else is sitting on the throne. We can so easily become prideful or jealous of other people when we are worshipping something other than God.

The most amazing blessing God has given us is the grace, mercy and eternal life we have received through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

Every good and perfect gift comes from God and our response or attitude towards those blessings should be ones that resemble someone who is grateful, not boastful. We can boast in Christ’s work but not in anything we do because God ordains everything and He holds the power and He is the one that gives a blessing, all glory and praise belong to Him and Him alone.

So let us be careful about what we allow ourselves to do, to think and let us turn away from a place of being prideful and turn to humility to be ambassadors for Jesus Christ above everything we do.

He is our hope and joy and nothing material can measure up to such a wonderful blessing that we have in Him.

Jekasole sounds like someone who truly has been through a lot. Through her music, I can see her growth and her rise. Can’t wait to see what she has in store for the future.
