Gerwin Holland presents ‘You Give Me Peace’. A song that speaks to many of us in trials of tribulation. reminding us of the words Jesus says to us, that we are to pray and not worry, that He provides peace.
My song “You Give Me Peace” was inspired by searching for gospel songs about peace in preparation for Men’s Day at my church. My Pastor mentioned the church theme for the month was peace and he wanted the men’s choir to sing a song about peace. After hours of countless searching, I was unable to find a song that spoke directly to me. It was soon after that I felt the prompting of the Lord to write a song. This song was literally written in 1.5 hours. My main focus was for the song to be inspiring and to have Bible-based lyrics. The song was originally intended to be sang A capella, but after my producer (Samson Ohda) heard it, he knew music belonged with the song. We did the track and vocal recordings for the song in approximately 5 hours. I didn’t know how inspiring the song was until I performed it for my church and saw the positive reception from church members, friends, and family. It was then that I realized this song could touch nations. With support and encouragement from my wife and Samson, I moved forward with plans to ensure the song was released.Gerwin Holland
We serve the God of all Comfort. When we are in stressful situations or seasons we can go to Him and rely on Him and this is what the artist is trying to say to you.
God gives us peace and in that, we rejoice regardless of the trouble that surrounds us. Mountains bow in His presence and He is in control. So never lose faith but trust in Him, Lean on Him, on His strength alone.
We are grateful for anyone that shares this peace that surpasses all understanding. So thank you Gerwin for sharing this with us. May the Lords peace be with you all the days of your life and may those who listen to this song be encouraged to trust in Jesus Christ.
