Grizz The Great – This particular song spoke wonders to my spirit reminding me of who I serve. We have to break the stereotype of Christians being soft because we serve a prince of peace. Jesus will strike the enemy with the sword of his mouth and we can strike our demons the same. Amen!
New Creature – My inspiration would have to hands down be the Spirit. That’s where I was in that moment, I needed a fresh ANOINTING. That new wine. You know we always heavy in the spirit glory to God but it ain’t nothing like that refreshing. I felt empty in that moment and that song in the moment was my prayer.
Anointing originated as a shepherding practice. Insects and lice often get into the wool of sheep, and as they get close to the sheep’s head, they can burrow into the sheep’s ears and kill them.
As a result, ancient shepherds poured oil on sheep’s heads. Consequently, insects cannot get near the sheep’s ears because the slippery wool keeps them at bay. The practise of anointing is now viewed as a blessing, protection, and empowerment ritual.
In the Old Testament, people were anointed for certain roles – to be kings, prophets, builders, etc. There is nothing wrong with anointing a person with oil today. In agreement with Scripture, we just need to make sure that the purpose of anointing is proper. There is no magic in anointing since the oil does not have any power on its own. Anointing people for specific purposes is only possible with the help of God. By using oil, we are only expressing God’s power.
Anointed also means “chosen,” as Jesus Christ was anointed with the Spirit by God to proclaim the Good News and free sinners (Luke 4:18-19; Acts 10:38). Sacred Scripture states that the Spirit was given to us after Christ left the earth (John 14:16). The goal of all Christians is to further God’s Kingdom, which means everyone has been anointed to fulfil a specific purpose (1 John 2:20). We are established in Christ and are anointed by God, who sealed our hearts and filled them with the Holy Spirit as a guarantee (2 Corinthians 12:22-23).
As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.1 John 2:27
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.– Psalm 51:10
This verse stood out to me when I heard one of the artists mention God cleansing us. God cleanses us by putting a new Spirit within us, the right Spirit, The Holy Spirit. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we are anointed, we are born again and we are redeemed. So remember God does not only anoint people in high positions within the church, He now anoints every single Christian as a priest to do his work. To fulfil his kingdom, to seek it first and foremost.
Thank you to Yeshua Boys and New Creature for this song and for using your creative talents and gifts to spread the Gospel.
