EbzyPraise – Mercy (Redemption 2.0)

This song came to me in a time when I was struggling, the period I was going through actually took me back to one of my previous releases ‘Redemption’ which pushed up in me writing a part 2. I thank God for this song and I pray it touches all those who listen to it.

This song speaks about the work of Jesus. We all deserved punishment and it was our lives that belonged on the cross because we are the sinners. We are the ones with a corrupt nature but because of His great love, He had mercy on us.

Definition of Mercy: ‘Mercy’ is not getting what you deserve.

But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

Ephesians 2:4-5

We deserved Hell.

Along with Mercy, Jesus has given us Grace.

Grace Definition: Grace’ is getting something you do not deserve.

In His Grace He has given us a new nature, He has given us the Holy Spirit and He has given us Eternal life. He has given us a new Identity. We have been adopted into God’s family (Romans 8).

In order for you to have the same, to receive mercy and grace. You need to recognise what you have done wrong in the eyes of God and there is no better place to look than in scripture itself. You need to be truly sorrowful for your sin and you need to seek God’s forgiveness.

Remember God knows the difference between a sincere heart and a heart that just wants to get something out of a relationship with Him.

“For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

1 Samuel 16:7

You need to make sure you mean what you say to God, it should truly come from your heart. You need to confess all that you have done wrong before Him. You need to ask Him to forgive you and you need to say you are sorry. But it does not stop there.

You need to run the opposite way from sin and you need to place your trust in Jesus Christ. Jesus died for your sins and your sinful nature. Once you receive the Holy Spirit things will change and it will be a big change within you. Your heart and the things you desire will change and then you will know that you have finally received the mercy and grace that God gifts His children.

You don’t have to fix yourself before you approach God. This is what He says:

But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.

– Matthew 9:13

In this song you can clearly hear that the writer understands God’s mercy, it is such a beautiful thing to put it into a song and allow people to hear it through a different form. Thank you to EbzyPraise for your beautiful artwork. We truly appreciate it. Thank you for the work you are doing for the Kingdom of God.
