Are you plugged into the source?

In our daily lives, it is s easy for us to remain plugged into the internet, in social media, It is so easy to see a notification on your phone and run for it. When our phone dies, we immediately run for the charge and put it back on because we are so afraid we miss out on anything. So when our charger stops working, when the Wi-Fi is down or when the electricity is out we tend to go a little crazy.

As professing Christians it is so important for us to identify our idols. What we technically run to out of distress, what we run to in times of trouble, are the things we worship without even noticing it.

Some run to Alcohol, some run to friends, some people run to food, some run to shopping or gambling, etc. Human beings are made to worship, regardless of the object, we are constantly worshipping and if we are not worshipping Jesus, we are always worshipping something else.

So here are a few questions to reflect on that:

  • When last have you spent time in Bible study?
  • When last have you prayed?

Did you notice that as soon as you stopped prioritizing those things it is so easy to carry on without it?  Did you ever wonder why it is so difficult?

Dear reader, we are bent towards the darkness and we are bent towards evil and a lot of us do not want to hear that. But it is the truth and if you do not realise the problem, how are you going to fix it?

Most of us from the younger generation are belittled by pastors, by teachers of the faith because we are constantly being told that we are not able to understand the deeper things of God. Brother and sisters that is a lie. I know 12-year-olds who know much more than some Pastors.

We need to stop allowing the world to define who we are and we need to open up scripture and truly study the words that God says about who we are whether they are negative words or positive, The truth always sets people free. Just hearing what we want to hear is dangerous for our growth and our mental, spiritual and emotional health.

So who is your source?

Is Jesus your source?

We need to wake up. How much effort do you put into your scripture reading?

How do you expect to fight a battle where the enemy and its demons know more than you do.

You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!”

James 2:19

Did you know that the enemy can call out any piece of scripture from memory? He did it with Jesus in Matthew 4. The deceiver is not going to be ignorant, he knows what you ought to know in scripture and he will use it against you if you do not ready yourself.

“and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “He will command his angels concerning you,’ And “‘On their hands, they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”

Matthew 4:6

Satan masquerades himself as an angel of light, a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He is going to look exactly the way you expect Christ to look if you have no understanding of Scripture.

“And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light”

2 Corinthians 11:14

Christian, it is time to get plugged in, Start with milk and then move to solid food meaning that you start with the basic truths of God and then move toward the deeper things. You need to live and breathe and eat the word of God more than once a day.

Look around you there are so many things that point to the end times and the enemy wants you to brush it off.

God is with you, open your Bible.

I pray that the Holy Spirit illuminates you and strengthens you because we are fighting in a war and it’s about time we all realise that.
