Andy Mineo released his highly anticipated album, Never Land II. I stayed up to listen to it at midnight, and this one of my favorite projects by Andy Mineo. Easily one of my favorite albums of the year. The album is narrated by Andy’s mother, from an interview she did before she passed. Hearing her voice throughout the project let’s us feel that her spirit is still with him. It made me feel happy and sad at the same time. But music that make you feel a mix of emotions is the best type of experience. In an era where artist only drop singles, if felt good to listen a complete album, especially one that tells a story. A story of Andy holding onto his inner child and while dealing with the realities that he has been facing as a man.
“Working On It” featuring Chandler Moore is a smash. As soon as it came on I added it to my playlists. From the production to the catchy melodies. The song is about mistakes we make in our relationships that we know we need to work on. It’s important to be mindful of our weaknesses in our relationship, that doesn’t mean we don’t love the person, it just takes time to change and grow. Working on yourself is a good thing, and this song helps us celebrate that. It’s honest, it’s playful and it’s a banger.
I might just have to be
What I never had for meAndy Mineo – Nobody’s Coming
Nobody’s Coming, is my favorite song off the project. Maybe Ever. Especially how it comes on after the audio clip of Andy’s mother talking about the time when he prayed for a new father. I feel the pain on this. I might be a little biased because I lost my father last year, so the words sting in a different way for me. I shed a couple tears on this one. There’s times we have been at our lowest where we have to make the decision to change that situation even if it hurts. Not saying it’s easy, but when that realization hits us, that is when we start taking the steps to becoming the change we want see in the world. “What if I’m the answer to things that I prayed” … “What if we’re the ones that we’re waiting on.” This is becoming my favorite, Andy Mineo song ever, the more I listen to it. Perfectly written words that will help many heal.
One of the special features on, Never Land II, is “Remind Me” featuring JVKE. If you’re on TikTok like me, than you should know who JVKE is. He’s artist, songwriter, producer and a genius at content creation. Andy Mineo jumped on, Instagram Live, to talk about the album as we waited for the clock to strike 12. JVKE jumped on as well as Vic Blends. I didn’t know al these guys were friends! They talked about how the collaboration happened, they talked about life, and just how the whole creation proccess feels. It’s a good watch, and it made me more excited to hear the project. Just good vibes and good people coming together.
If you haven’t listened to Never Land II, do yourself a favor and listen to the album below. A beautiful album, filled with healing, self relfection and bangers to bring it all together. I feel like Andy’s still getting better; I’m going to enjoy this album for a while. Let’s continue to pray for Andy and his family! God bless & stay hydrated.
